Club Fundraising Policy
(Approved at the August 8, 2003 Board meeting.)
In order to meet the operating budget needs of the Saskatoon Laser Swim Club and to keep registration fees reasonable, the club has determined a fundraising commitment for all member families with active swimmers. The annual fundraising requirements are as follows:
Mini Lasers $ 25.00
White $100.00
Red $125.00
Junior $150.00
TAG $175.00
Senior $200.00
- Each family will raise the full amount for the highest level swimmer in the family and one-half of the requirement for each additional swimmer.
- Each Family may choose to participate in fund raising activities to raise all or a portion of their fundraising requirement. They may also choose not participate and payout their fundraising commitment.
- At registration time families will submit 2 post dated cheques, one dated January 31st and one dated May 31st, both for the next calendar year, each cheque being for one-half of the amount of their total fundraising commitment.
- Once a family has fulfilled their fundraising requirement, they may continue to participate in fundraising projects with 65% of the net amount raised by the family posted to their swimmer account. The exception is extra bingos which are valued at a flat amount of $50.00 each. This money can be accessed to offset swimming expenses (e.g. registration fees, meet fees, equipment, travel costs, etc.) Receipts are required.
- 75% of fundraising money goes to your swimmer’s account, 25% goes to the Lasers.
- All requests to hold fund raising events, including Special Purpose Fundraising events, must be approved by the Board.
- Special Purpose Fundraising events, for activities such as extra trips and swim camps (e.g. Jasper) do not fall within this policy, i.e. they do not contribute to a family’s Club Fundraising commitment.
Fundraising Co-ordinators take on the responsibility of:
- planning a fund raising project
- ensuring that all members are informed about the project
- keeping track of the families who worked/participated in the project
- preparing an income and expense statement for the project
- calculating each family’s share of the profits of the project
